President Kovind Accepts Puducherry CM V Narayanasamy’s Resignation

<p><strong>Puducherry:&nbsp;</strong>President Kovind has accepted Puducherry CM V Narayanasamy and the council member's resignation. Narayanasamy lost the majority votes in a Floor test on Monday.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>A notification of the Union Home Ministry issued on Tuesday said: "The President has been pleased to accept resignation of V.Narayanasamy Chief Minister of Puducherry along with his council of Ministers with effect from February 22." According to PTI, a copy of the notification was made available to the media here by the Raj Nivas, the office of Puducherry Lt Governor.</p> <p>Ahead of the floor test, on Sunday, two more MLAs of the Congress- DMK alliance in Puducherry resigned i.e. Congress MLA K Lakshminarayanan and DMK legislator Venkatesan. The news came days after MLA A John Kumar, who was considered close to Chief Minister V Narayanasamy also resigned week before. In the floor test, a Chief Minister appointed by the Governor is asked to prove the majority in the Legislative Assembly.&nbsp;</p> <p>The floor test was ordered on Thursday after following a demand-led by the Opposition which was led by All India NR Congress founder N Rangasamy who is the former Chief Minister of Puducherry. The floor test was ordered by Tamilisai Soundararajan the Telangana Governor who was sworn after in Dr. Kiran Bedi was on Tuesday removed as the Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory (UT).&nbsp;</p>...
