‘Bengal Wants Its Own Daughter’: TMC’s Poll Slogan Hails CM Mamata As ‘Insider’, BJP Leaders ‘Outsider’

<p>Portraying chief minister Mamata Banerjee as the daughter of Bengal, the Trinamool Congress on Saturday launched its party&rsquo;s campaign slogan barely two months ahead of the crucial Assembly elections in West Bengal. <strong>ALSO READ | <a href="https://news.abplive.com/news/india/mamata-banerjee-targets-bjp-alleges-conspiracy-behind-bomb-attack-on-jakir-hossain-1444780">Mamata Banerjee Targets BJP, Alleges &lsquo;Conspiracy&rsquo; Behind Bomb Attack On Jakir Hossain</a></strong></p> <p>The TMC Slogan&nbsp; - 'Bangla Nijer Meyekei Chaye', which translates to 'Bengal wants its own daughter'- was accompanied with Banerjee's photo on the hoardings which were officially launched by the state's ruling party across Kolkata.</p> <p>According to the reports, senior party leaders Derek O&rsquo;Brien, Subrata Bakshi, Partha Chatterjee, and Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar were present at the unveiling of the slogan. It clearly portrays the focus of the party's campaign which is ousting the &lsquo;bohiragoto&rsquo; (outsiders) and retaining seats on votebank of women of Bengal.</p> <p>Polls to the 294-member West Bengal Assembly is expected to be held sometime in April-May this year.
